Now Solskjaer must find a way to make the team defend better in the Frenchman’s absence.
But there are good news, too. An example for this is the return of Marcus Rashford who missed all the game so far. The English international returned on the pitch against Leicester and even scored a goal. He gives Ole one more option in attack and that’s a good thing for the manager. Most likely Rashford won’t start against Liverpool because he still lacks match practice, but surely he would come from the bench.
There’s no need to say it, but obviously Liverpool’s defense will have to pay attention to Cristiano Ronaldo – one of the greatest players in history. The Portuguese veteran didn’t score against Leicester, so now he’d be extra motivated to do better in the derby. We all know that Cristiano is a player who’s made for the big games, so who knows – maybe we will see him explode against Jurgen Klopp’s team?

During the week Liverpool made another huge statement as well. They faced Atletico Madrid in the Champions League and achieved a 3-2 win at the Wanda Metropolitano in the Spanish capital. Mohamed Salah scored twice against Los Colchoneros while Naby Keita scored one as well. Salah now has 12 goals in 11 games in all competitions which is pretty impressive by the Egyptian. The manager Jurgen Klopp already shared his opinion that right now Mo Salah is probably the best player in the world. He’s particularly impressive in the Champions League – five goals in three matches.
Jurgen Klopp didn’t change his attacking trident against the Spaniards, but he included Naby Keita in the line-up. It proved to be a good decision as Keita scored one of the goals for the Reds. Jordan Henderson and James Milner partnered him in midfield. In the second half Klopp gave the nod to players like Fabinho, Diogo Jota, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Neco Williams. Right now Jota is losing the race with Roberto Firmino for a starting spot, but he will do everything he can to return in the starting eleven.
